The Government removed from the list of defaulters of providers who had at least since last year hoping to charge for their services. The Catalan executive has submitted to the Ministry of Finance and Public Administration 268,489 a mammoth bills that were pending to pay their suppliers on 31 December last year to benefits central government aid and try to bring order to their obligations. As explained by the Department of Economics and Knowledge, who heads Andreu Mas-Colell, those bills add up to 1.984 million euros. This amount includes debts that carry public companies the Catalan government and concerts with educational, health or social services dispensed.
The drop in revenue caused by the crisis has been in trouble several times the relations of the Generalitat with suppliers. The Executive Artur Mas delaying payments to suppliers faced a cash crisis in September, although it suffered more serious episode in December. A spokeswoman for the Department of Economics and Knowledge, however, indicated that this figure corresponded to a calculation of maximum and included 753 million debt with the municipalities, for which he has found a way out, and invoices that have been paying off these months. In addition, the executive insisted that Catalonia Catalan is not the community with more delinquencies.
The payment plan is structured executive through a 10-year loan financed by banks and the Official Credit Institute (ICO), with two years grace and an interest rate close to 5%. In total, the Government has planned to Mariano Rajoy 35,000 million euros, of which 20,000 million will go to cover debts of the municipalities and other communities. The deadline for communities to submit their bills ended on Sunday.
The social work of the boxes
Mas-Colell yesterday also signed annual agreements with the savings banks, by which these spend part of their contribution to social work policies agreed with the Government. However, if the photo that appeared three years ago the heads of ten states, only came yesterday signed three agreements: La Caixa, Caixa Caixa Penedès and Laietana. In total, these three entities earmarked 32 million euros in agreed policies considered "priority" by the Executive Catalan.
