Activity in the industry rose 2.8% in February, bringing the industry achieved its best month since November 2010 , according to data adjusted for seasonal and calendar effects has released Monday by the INE. Manufacturing and within this large section, the food and especially the manufacture of vehicles and adjacent sectors are major contributors to the growth of IPI February. It also helps raise the average performance of the chemical industry.
For communities , although in this case the original data series , industrial production increased compared to February 2013 in 13 autonomous regions. The largest increases occurring in Extremadura ( 24.2%), Castilla y León (12.6%) and Valencia ( 8.2%). Meanwhile, the largest decreases were recorded in Asturias (-8.6 %) , Baleares ( -3.3 %) and Madrid (-2.5 %).
Compared with January , the IPI advances 0.7 % excluding seasonal and calendar effects. This rate is seven higher than that observed in January tenth. In the monthly comparison , all industries have positive monthly rates , excluding consumer durables (-0.5 %) and also the non-durable consumption, but with just a little -0.1 %.
