The radical Islamist group Boko Haram has abducted more than 100 children from a public high school in the town of Chinook, northeastern Nigeria. Insurgents have targeted school-residence on the night of Monday, according to teachers said.
Musa Audu, who teaches at another public school in the area, said the armed group has attacked other schools in the area. Chinook is in Borno State, territory where insurgents operate.
The president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan, accused the armed group to be responsible for a bomb attack Monday at a bus station in Abuja, Nigeria's capital. The attack killed at least 71 people and injured 124.
Islamist terrorists have in recent years caused at least 4,000 deaths, mostly Christians or agents of the security forces and the army in the northeast states of the country with a Muslim majority.
