The Minister of Economy and Competitiveness Luis de Guindos , has advanced Wednesday that GDP growth will average 1.5 % between 2014 and 2015. According to the minister , " it appears that the Spanish economy continued to recover in the first quarter of the year " and that for the first time since the crisis began , " there will be a sustained recovery " and net job creation " will be relatively significant " in a period of two years. Guindos , who attended a briefing organized by the Association of Economic Journalists ( FIPA ) , announced that these data consist in the review of the Stability Programme and National Reform Plan to be sent to Brussels later this month.
The minister has made this year the Treasury will issue a "clearly inferior" to 65.000 million forecast net figure. The Treasury had originally intended to make gross emissions amounting to 242,000 million , of which about 177,000 million were to meet deadlines, and the rest , those 65,000 million , increasing debt. This reduction is due, according to the minister , the increase in revenue , the interest savings and reduced financing costs . Guindos not quantify the specific cuts , but noted that the cut shows that have improved budgetary needs.

The economy minister stressed that " the direction of the economy has changed " , which will meet the goal of creating jobs. However, he acknowledged that while it is important , that figure "will be insufficient, without doubt." In this sense , trust that the employment figures of the Labour Force Survey ( LFS) for the first quarter will be announced on April 29 substantially improve the first quarters of the past years of the crisis, when they came to destroy up to 300,000 jobs in that period.
The minister also ruled out the risk of deflation ( continued fall in the price level of goods and services ) in Spain , although low inflation that has positive aspects . According Guindos is due to increased domestic demand , both consumption and capital goods, and improving the indicators of household confidence , "we take pre -crisis levels " and are higher than those of other countries in the euro area.
The minister expects unemployment in the first quarter is better than at the start of the crisis
Regarding alerts International Monetary Fund (IMF ) on the matter , the minister noted that the agency " does is covered " and that at the last meeting , prior to Easter , confirmed the recovery of the global economy, although as usual also noted the risks to that recovery. Among those risks , called " tail " and would have a "significant" impact on the forecasts , deflation appears .
The minister noted , moreover , the evolution of the Spanish banking system, which is prepared for the stress tests to be undergone this year. Something for which , in his view , was not two years ago. Moreover , he was convinced that the process of privatization of Catalunya Banc culminate this summer after the healing process that is undergoing the entity. He also dismissed the state extraordinary contributions to the Deposit Guarantee Fund (FGD ) .
