 Toulouse: Ozar Hatorah school target of anti-Semitic threats

The Jewish school, hit hard by a massacre on March 19, complained after the offensive phone calls and emails.



Police are investigating the calls and emails received by the anti-Semitic Jewish school Ozar Hatorah since it was the scene of the carnage committed by Mohamed Merah, said Wednesday the prosecutor of Toulouse Michel Valet.

According to the Representative Council of Jewish Institutions in France (CRIF), the school was commonly the target of such acts before the tragedy, but she was assaulted after the killing of 19 March.

The school principal has filed a complaint on March 26, reported the prosecutor. The latter said he "immediately ordered an investigation to determine the origin or origins of these calls and letters from these malicious."

He did not comment on the number of these calls, or their content.

According to the regional secretary general of CRIF, the mailbox of the school "has received a large amount of mail and anti-Semitic anti-Zionist" since 19.

The mails are not directly the school itself, said Marc Sztulman, "they call for the killing of Jews or make connections with the risky Israeli-Palestinian conflict."

"We will complain when the time comes, we have other concerns in times of mourning, but we will do against all those who call for racial hatred and murder of Jews," he said.

Mohamed Merah has coldly murdered three Jewish children and a teacher at the school on March 19, an act that sowed terror in France.
