The possibility of introducing some form of health copayment statewide catagóricamente has been rejected by the government after the Cabinet meeting on Friday: "Neither has been approached by or on the table of the Council of Ministers," warned the Deputy Prime Minister, Soraya Saenz de Santamaria. But this emphatically does not mean that measures such as the one established by the Government of the Generalitat of Catalonia can not be implemented in the regions. In fact the vice president, said Thursday as Health Minister, Ana Mato, leaves the door open for autonomy to decide: "Each community makes its DECISIONS".
The vice president was asked about whether it considers that the decision of the Parliament encroaches on the powers of the state in health, to which replied that the powers of the State "are quite clear" and refer to the pricing of drugs and issues such as the common range of basic services and ensure equality of all Spanish when receiving healthcare services.
Soraya has proved cautious in assessing the action taken by Catalonia: "Each makes its political autonomy and must explain to the citizens", but after the guarantee, the Government withdrew: "Another thing would be to invade the powers of the autonomy which by law have transferred the "health. Thus, Soraya wanted to show that the decision whether or not a fee for prescription corresponds to the regions.
