Un total de 30 personas han sido detenidas poco antes de las cinco de la tarde en el interior de la sede de la Sociedad de Gestión de Activos Inmobiliarios (SAREB), el llamado banco malo, en el paseo de la Castellana número 89, ha informado un portavoz de la Jefatura Superior de Policía de Madrid. Los arrestados habían entrado a la entidad alrededor de la una de la tarde y se negaban a abandonarla.

La concentración se enmarcaba dentro de las actividades de protesta para que se apruebe la Iniciativa Legislativa Popular que se está debatiendo en el Congreso de los Diputados sobre hipotecas y desahuios. La había convocado la Plataforma Antidesahucios (PAH), al igual que otros actos en todo el territorio español. Los concentrados portaban una pancarta con el lema Exigimos ni un desahucio más. Alquiler Social y Condonación de la deuda. Habían convocado por las redes sociales bajo la etiqueta #TomaElBancoMalo.
Los encerrados en Sareb venían de acompañar a otros 13 activistas que fueron denunciados en noviembre por encerrarse en una sucursal del BBVA para evitar un desahucio, informa Carmen Pérez-Lanzac. Tras declarar, los activistas -la mayoría jóvenes- han sido absueltos. La mujer en riesgo de ser desahuciada, Yeimi Pérez, colombiana de 29 años, sigue esperando una respuesta por parte del banco.
Según el portavoz policial, unos 70 manifestantes se han quedado en el exterior de la sucursal y unos 40 han entrado. Al lugar se han desplazado agentes de la Unidad de Intervención Policial (antidisturbios). El director de la entidad se ha dirigido a una comisaría y ha denunciado que las personas que habían entrado estaban haciendo pintadas y que se negaban a ir.
Los agentes, siempre según la versión policial, les han detenido acusado de los delitos de allanamiento de establecimiento abierto al público y por resistencia y desobediencia. Han sido trasladados a la comisaría del distrito de Tetuán, donde están a la espera de ser interrogados. Para evitar ser sancionados, las personas que entraron en el banco no llevaban el carné de identidad.
