The IAG Group, parent of Iberia, announced Wednesday that a 32% improvement in its bid to acquire 100% of Vueling, as reported by the company to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV). This, IAG expects to exceed the board's rejection of the budget airline Josep Pique headed and had recommended its shareholders reject the operation.
Prior to that the new offer, the CNMV decided to provisionally suspend the listing of Vueling. On his return to the park, its shares have risen 9.67% to 9.3 euros. At the time of the suspension, trading at 8.42 euros per share after falling so far 0.71% from late Tuesday.
In addition, IAG extends the deadline for accepting the offer, and passing from 39 to 48 calendar days. The Offer is conditioned upon acceptance at least 90% of the shares of Vueling voting non-IAG, ie an acceptance by the 48.69% stake.
