Pescanova has temporarily suspended recruitment bank Houlihan Lokey as financial advisor for the restructuring of the financial debt until reformulate accounts 2012 and the board gives its approval to the terms of this contract. The suspension comes after the U.S. investment bank had already held its first meeting with the group of creditor banks on Thursday. In it, Houlihan Lokey agreed to convene a second meeting once fixed the exact amount of the debt to be refinanced.
Some sources attributed the decision to Pescanova to possible discrepancies in its board of directors, composed of 12 directors, about the strategy behind preconcurso request of creditors and have started the process of renegotiating its debt. Pescanova that a liability has audited 1,500 million, this year had to face the debt maturity for an amount of 203.36 million euros (credit institutions, debt obligations and non-commercial).
Meanwhile, Damm, Galician group second shareholder, with 6.18%, remains still awaiting a response from Pescanova after requesting the convening of an extraordinary council to require more information on the situation of the company.
