La Comisión, el Consejo de la UE y el Parlamento Europeo han alcanzado este martes un primer acuerdo preliminar sobre el nuevo papel del Banco Central Europeo (BCE) como supervisor bancario único y la reforma de la Autoridad Bancaria Europea (ABE).
"Hoy hemos dado un paso esencial para hacer realidad la unión bancaria y restablecer la confianza en la solidez y la credibilidad de los bancos de la eurozona", ha dicho el comisario europeo de Mercado Interior y Servicios Financieros, Michel Barnier, nada más terminar las negociaciones de las tres instituciones de la UE.

The Commission, the EU Council and the European Parliament reached agreement on Tuesday a first draft on the new role of the European Central Bank (ECB) as a single banking supervisor and the reform of the European Banking Authority (EBA).
"Today we have taken a step essential for realizing the union bank and restore confidence in the soundness and credibility of eurozone banks," said the European Commissioner for Internal Market and Financial Services, Michel Barnier, immediately after the negotiations of the three EU institutions.
