En noviembre de 2011, 14.110 aspirantes se presentaron a las oposiciones de maestro convocadas por la Comunidad de Madrid, que ofertaba 489 plazas. Esta prueba incluyó, por primera vez, un test con preguntas de conocimiento de un nivel equivalente a sexto de primaria, según indicaron desde la Consejería de Educación. Son los contenidos recogidos en el decreto por el que se establece para Madrid el currículo de educación primaria.
El 86% de los 14.110 aspirantes suspendieron la llamada prueba de conocimiento, según los datos facilitados por la Consejería de Educación tras encargar un informa a la inspección educativa. Aprobaron 1.913 personas. Esta prueba incluía el test y una segunda parte con un supuesto práctico. Educación ofreció los resultados de la prueba, que incluía ambas partes, realizada en 2011 dos años después y en mitad de la negociación para cambiar la baremación de acceso para las listas de interinos. Educación ha incluido como requisito la aprobación de esta prueba y que la nota puntúe un 80% en detrimento de la experiencia.
Tras la publicación de los resultados en distintos medios, entre ellos EL PAÍS, los sindicatos educativos denunciaron la "filtración" de forma "irregular" de lo que consideran un "supuesto" informe de la inspección al que las centrales no tuvieron acceso durante las negociaciones del nuevo baremo. Consideran que es un "ataque" y un "escarnio" a la profesión docente.
Diversos aspirantes se pusieron en contacto con este diario para denunciar que no se conocieron los contenidos de esta prueba hasta última hora. La resolución sobre las oposiciones se publicó en junio, cinco meses antes de la prueba. En el anexo VII, se explicaba que los aspirantes debían hacer una prueba común que permitiría "comprobar la formación científica del candidato" y añadía que deberían responder a cuestiones sobre contenidos del decreto que establece el currículo de primaria. Los aspirantes disponían de hora y media para resolver este ejercicio. Muchas preguntas incluían respuestas múltiples y no se puntuaban si no incluían todos los resultados correctamente.
