The Anti-Corruption Prosecutor has supported the position of Bank Restructuring Fund (FROB) that the High Court is competent to investigate alleged crimes of fraud, misappropriation and unfair administration tasks in the management of Banco de Valencia, an entity operated by the Bank of Spain last November due to its insolvency.
The brief for the prosecution, for the court of Instruction No. 1 of the National Court says literally that the complaint is directed against the FROB former CEO of Banco de Valencia for 17 years "Sunday Parra and another." Corruption does not provide details, but according to information at the time contrasted this paper, the agency under the Bank of Spain directed the complaint, accompanied by a written 200 pages, against Parra, his wife, the president of Aguas de Valencia, Eugenio Calabuig, and four of his family, and against who was briefly president of the organization, Aurelio Izquierdo, although in this case as a possible beneficiary of the alleged offenses.
Anti considered wise decision of the FROB to go to the National Court and not to a court in Valencia was already investigating the management carried out on the bench for the "grave impact on the security of the trade or in the national economy" that could result from the crimes denounced. This is, as stated in Article 65.1 of the Organic Law of Judicial Power, one of the assumptions that enable the High Court to take jurisdiction of a case against the rule, which is the place where it had been committed and that in this case would be the Provincial Court of Valencia.
Corruption also bows to unify this research that opened the trial of Instruction No. 3 of Valencia after an association of small shareholders complaint to the chief executives of the bank, the entire board of directors and other members of management bodies of the entity. The prosecution believes that this court should defer to the Court.
