Spain received in the first five months of the year a total of 19.1 million international tourists, representing a 2.4% increase over the same period in 2011, according to the Survey of Tourist Movements in Frontera (Frontur) released on Friday by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism.

By contrast, Andalusia and Catalonia recorded declines of 7.8% and 1.8% respectively.
The government plans to approve today the National Comprehensive Plan for Tourism
The Government intends to adopt on Friday during the Council of Ministers and the National Comprehensive Plan for Tourism (PNIT) prepared by the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Tourism, the new time in the tourism map for the next four years.
The objectives of the measures, as previously announced by the minister, José Manuel Soria, are giving impetus to the Spain brand and standardize regulations, increased collaboration between public and private sectors and increased cooperation with the CC . AA. in tourism.
