The collective agreement agreed wages rose by an average of 1.56% in July, below inflation, conducted by the INE, 2.2%. Data from the Ministry of Employment and Social Security also indicate that the wage increase was lower in the new agreements (where wages rose an average 0.85%) than in the revised Conventions (which grew by an average 1.66%) .
The wage increase was lower in sectoral agreements (on average 1.54%) than in the company (1.74%). In both cases the revisions of July were down compared with June. It is the sixth consecutive month in which wages rise more enterprise agreements that sector. However, newly established agreements has been slower rise in business (0.47% on average) than in the sector (0.90%).
The European Central Bank yesterday recommended to promote the negotiation of enterprise agreements as a way to reduce wages to lower unemployment. As of July were registered in the Ministry of Employment 1209 conventions, with effects on 381,900 companies Most of these agreements, 74.3% are in business, but cover only 301,000 workers, the remaining 25.6% of area higher than the company, includes 2.9 million employees.
Is the 18th consecutive month in which the convention agreed wages fall. In May and contractual wages were lower than inflation, 1.72% compared with 1.9% of CPI. Agreed working hours have also declined: 1,751 on average in July, compared with an average of 1,755 in the previous month. Agreed times were lower in enterprise agreements (1,718) than in the sector (1,755)
