Europe sets date to discuss the future of the euro
The first event will be the European Central Bank meeting scheduled for day 6

European financial institutions are developing the schedule that will define common solutions to the debt crisis and the future of the single currency. The first date is marked on 6th September when the European Central Bank (ECB) deal with the details of his involvement in the debt market announced by its president, Mario Draghi, on 26 July. The next meeting will be on day 14, when the finance ministers of the euro zone are in Cyprus.
The European Commission, meanwhile, confirmed yesterday that the report of the troika of the IMF, the ECB and the Commission on Greece will not be ready until late September or early October, had advanced as President of the Eurogroup Jean-Paul Juncker. According to his spokesman on Economic Affairs, Simon O'Connor, the final date will depend on "progress is made on the ground". German Chancellor Angela Merkel has repeatedly stated that the report of the troika will depend on the direction taken by Europe regarding Greece.
The German Jörg Asmussen, one of six members of the ECB's Executive Board, said yesterday at a meeting in Hamburg that the technical and operational details of the purchase of debt are "under development". Asmussen said that "markets are putting a price on a euro zone breakup" and that any ECB intervention has to be parallel to a similar intervention of European bailout funds.
Type "sustainable"
The European Commission Vice President and Commissioner for Finance, Finland's Olli Rehn, believes that Spain should be able to enjoy interest rates "sustainable" if it continues on the path of reforms and concrete support of the ECB.
In a written response to the Austrian MEP Angelika Werthmann, written on the 16th, Rehn said that Spain "has made good progress", as evidenced by the increase in exports and reducing the current account deficit.
Being uncertain of the Eurosceptic Werthmann, the commissioner said that European support mechanisms to states in distress will be "sufficient" if these countries meet the announced reform programs.
