The National Court Judge Javier Gomez Bermudez was charged with misappropriation and unfair administration of former President of the Supervisory Board of the Savings Bank of the Mediterranean (CAM), Ramon Aviles, who allegedly used his position to obtain credit entity.
The judge has agreed and the complaint filed by the lawyer Carlos Gómez-Jara, designated by the Fund for Orderly Bank Restructuring (FROB) to represent the box Alicante, which already are six officials of the bank who are accused.
Avilés is called to testify on 4 September, legal sources said, confirming the news well ahead today by the newspaper Expansion.
According to the business daily, the complaint reveals that Aviles used his position to obtain CAM credits worth 17 million euros, which would not have been granted in other cases the risks entailed.
The Bank of Spain has already indicted last April Aviles to hide the Control Committee that was linked to a society, the path Sucina, spanning serious difficulties and that nevertheless managed to refinance their debts with the CAM in a favorable conditions.
