The housing sales continue on the downward path and recorded a further decline in June to add 16 months in negative, although until January 2013 will continue the relief for home purchases and the VAT rate super (4%). The fall of 11.4% in the sixth month of the year versus the same period in 2011 is nearly identical to that recorded on-year in May, as reported on Thursday the National Statistics Institute (INE).
In the first six months, the cumulative decline is 20.8%. Last year ended with a fall of 17.7%, compared with growth of 6.3% in 2010. This rise, known as miniburbuja, came after sales plummet in 2009 and 2008 by 24.9% and 28.8% respectively, coinciding with the crisis in the sector.
The recoil is accumulated to 20.8% in June
In June, there were 25,405 operations, a figure far from the figures achieved in the boom in the sector, when it peaked at over 80,000 transactions per month. Of this total, 52.3% were on previously owned homes and 47.7% of new buildings. The sale of new homes fell by 12.3% over the same period of 2011 to add 12,109 operations. The contraction in the segment used was 10.6%, with 13,296 transactions.
Home sales also saw a drop in month terms. The decline of 6.9% in June contrasts with the 26.6% rise seen in May.
Most of the houses sale-borne 87.3% - was performed on free housing. In this sector, the decline was 10.1% at six months, up to 22,173 operations.
Sheltered housing operations were 3,232, down 19.6%.
Valencia and La Rioja top the list of regions with the highest number of house sales per 100,000 population, respectively with 95 and 85 operations.
61.9% of house sales made in the sixth month of 2012 were in Andalusia (5115 operations), Valencia (3879), Catalonia (3386) and Madrid (3356).
The communities made fewer purchases, however, were La Rioja (218 operations), Navarre (239) and Cantabria (361).
Total rural and urban transmitted in June was 130,294, down 8.1% over June 2011. For sale is sent a total of 54,447 farms, 14.4% less than in June 2011.
