Both Houses of the Diet (parliament) of Japan have chosen today to Shinzo Abe, leader of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP), new prime minister, the seventh in the last six years, replacing Yoshihiko Noda, the Democratic Party (PD ). The appointment of Abe, whose training achieved a landslide victory in the general elections of December 16, received 328 votes in favor of the 480 seats in the lower house that has Japanese, in which their training has an absolute majority. Following the vote, the new prime minister announced his new cabinet, in which the figure of Taro Aso, former Head of Government and exrival Abe's own, as finance minister.
The appointment of Abe, 58, received the applause of his party, was also endorsed by the Senate, but it was a mere formality as the Japanese Constitution prevails in the result of the lower house.
