The Deputy Prime Minister, Soraya Saenz de Santamaria, today announced that the Central Government will offer about 1,600 government jobs in 2013 in order to "ensure quality" of certain services, without forgetting the fiscal consolidation commitments. The government froze public jobs by 2012 and reduced to zero the rate of replacement of staff in the public sector, except for the Security Forces of the State and in basic services.
In the press conference after the Council of Ministers, Saenz de Santamaria explained that the government intends to approve the tender offer of employment for 2013 in February.
