The European Commission ( EC) and the European Central Bank ( ECB) on Monday began its first monitoring mission in Spain after the end of the program for financial assistance to the country in January , which will include the situation of its economy and its system banking . Experts from the EU executive and the ECB, together with envoys of the European Stability Mechanism ( ESM) to act as observers maintain several meetings with " key players " of the Spanish financial system , according to the spokesman .
On the agenda are scheduled meetings with executives of the Company Asset Management Proceeds from Bank Restructuring ( SAREB ) - called " bad bank" - the public fund to rescue banks (FROB ) , the Bank of Spain and main Spanish financial institutions , as well as staff from various ministries.

The meetings will be held throughout this week , but also meetings held on 3 April, after the Spanish government published and sent to Brussels the final figure of the public deficit in 2013, which has the deadline March 31 .
For this reason , the mission does not provide communicate their findings after the visit until the end of next week , said the spokesman , who also said that these meetings " involve no conditionality and are purely an exercise of control" by Brussels .
The post- monitoring program maintained by the European Commission and the ECB in the Member States emerging from an adjustment plan or financial aid foregone preventive usually involves two visits a year, so that the next visit to Spain is scheduled for the fall.
Countries will continue under the new enhanced surveillance until they return 75 % or more of aid received, in order to " ensure the proper and sustainable return to markets and fiscal sustainability for the benefit of the Member State in question and the whole of the eurozone, " according to European rules.
Meanwhile , the ESM has its own monitoring program back , which will last until the country has returned 100% of the aid received. The maturity of the € 41.333 million of loan used to 100.000 million made available to Spain in July 2012 will be between 2025 and 2027 .
