The Guardia Civil has intervened 738,200 euros to a retired couple in a routine inspection of an intercity bus that travels from La Seu d'Urgell and Barcelona. The Army, says that this is one of the largest foreign exchange interventions conducted in Spain under the regulation of the movement of capital.
The police operation took place in the town of Bellver de Cerdanya, in the most direct route to Barcelona by the Cadi tunnel. Violators, a marriage of Barcelona of 74 and 70, said they had not been to Andorra. However, the Civil Guard intervened suspicion that money can come from a bank in the neighboring country, a possibility that must be verified by the Ministry of Finance.
The cash-in tickets intercepted 500 and 200 euros, was hidden in a suitcase in the hold of the bus, and was placed in a plastic bag and in turn wrapped in foil. The owners of the case stated that the money belonged to them both equally, so that Civil Guard records up paths for committing violations of the legislation on money laundering, to exceed the maximum allowable amount of 100,000 euros person.
