The Japanese currency, the yen depreciated again today strongly against the euro and the dollar, reaching levels not seen change in the currency market for over three and four years, respectively.
The euro, which was changed yesterday in Tokyo around 128 yen, today moved in band of 129 yen, a level not seen since mid-January 2010.
For its part, the U.S. currency, which yesterday was exchanged throughout the day above the 98 yen line today surpassed the 99 units, which has not happened since April 2009.
According to local analysts, the new depreciation responds to the decision, announced last week, the Bank of Japan (BOJ) monetary base to double in the next two years, an ambitious stimulus measure to get the country out of deflation.
On account of the continued fall of the yen, Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe said in the Diet (Parliament) to take the necessary measures to avoid possible adverse effects the cheapening of the currency.
Abe's remarks came after some recent economic data have pointed to the decline of the yen, despite muscle benefit the Japanese exporter, have much the cost of expensive Japanese imports, whose volume has also increased significantly in the last two years.
"We will look closely at the impact it has on businesses and households that rise" in the amount of the importing country, said Abe, was quoted by Kyodo news agency.
Since Shinzo Abe ran in November 2012 to head the government, which he did after winning the December general, and promised to bring political change Japan's economic stagnation, the yen has appreciated by 29 percent over the euro and 25 percent against the dollar.
Furthermore, the fall of the Yen today contributed to a new breakthrough in the Tokyo Stock Exchange, which also benefited from the positive close on Wall Street yesterday.
At half of trading on Nikkei rise accumulated 67.45 points, 0.51 percent, and stood at 13,260.04 points, while the second indicator, the Topix, which groups the values of the first section, climbed 2.82 points, or 0.26 percent, to 1104.56 units.
