The public authority Aena start charging a euro this year by using luggage carts at airports of Madrid-Barajas, Barcelona El Prat, Malaga, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife and Alicante, a move it hopes will save Madrid airfield only 3.2 million per year.
BAA sources have explained that, although there is still no specific date for the launch of the system, the Madrid-Barajas airport will be the first network to have this new management model.
