Banesto obtained in the first half of the year a total of 82 million euros, representing 50.8% less than the same period of 2011. Analysts now forecast a fall in profit due to heavy supplies that the entity has had to do to clean up the property portfolio.
The Santander Group has announced today a few notes of the accounts of its main subsidiary in Spain, which officially launched tomorrow at the first press conference by the new CEO of Banesto, Javier San Felix, who took office in May after the departure of his predecessor, Jose Garcia Cantera, to Banco Santander.
The bank has reduced over the last year its branch network in twenty offices
Banesto held until June a loan portfolio of 64.571 million, up 10% from a year earlier, according to data provided by Santander. Delinquencies increased in the last year of 4.54% to 5.27% of total loans, with a coverage of 54%, two points higher than a year earlier.
The deposits have reached 49,992,000, 7.5% less than in June 2011.
Banesto has fallen in the last year its network of branches in a dozen offices, up 1,698, while the staff stood at 9,234 employees, 236 less than a year ago.
