The Ministry of Development fell 56.5% in the bidding for public works in the first eight months of the year, during which launched projects amounting to 1,629.66 million euros, according to the bosses of large construction Seopan. This represents a cut in public investment in works of 2,120 million compared to 3748.81 million bid for the same period of 2011.
On Wednesday, the Minister of Development, Ana Pastor, presented at the Congress of the Plan for Infrastructure, Transport and Housing (PITVI) from 2012 to 2024 a day before the adoption of the draft State Budget (PGE), 2013. Building, principal investing public body of the state, promoted and 29.5% of the total tendered public works in the country between January and August. In this period, the entire state government tendered out construction projects for a total of 5527.90 million, representing a decrease of 45.4% and a reduction of some 4,600 million euros on 2011.
Between January and August there was a monthly average bid totaling some 691 million euros. If this pace, on the set of 2012 will be drawn to contest works for about 10.364 million euros. This data would be a new low that rolls back the public works to 1996 levels. It also represents almost a fifth of the record high of 46.701 million in 2006 and would chain reached six years of declines.
The projects promoted by regional governments to EUR 1.677 million in August, 35.5% less, and local governments, by 1.765 million, representing a fall of 38.2%.
