The 95 octane gasoline and diesel fuel have become cheaper for the third consecutive week, reaching an average of 1.462 and 1.412 euros per liter, respectively, according to data from European Oil Bulletin. Thus, the fuel away from the highs recorded in late August, when gasoline reached 1.522 euros a liter and diesel, the 1,445.
Gasoline now costs 2.6% less than last week, while diesel is on average 1.4% cheaper. In the past month, gasoline has cheapened 3.31%, with a decrease of 3.94% from its peak, and diesel fuel, 0.7%, reaching 2.28% below his record. Despite these cuts, rising gasoline accumulated since the beginning of the year of 7.66%, a figure that rises to 10.51% if we consider the data of the last twelve months.
With respect to oil, a liter now costs more than 5.69% earlier this year and 10.75% more than the same period of 2011. The 95 octane gasoline costs on average 1.675 euros per liter in the European Union (EU) and 1.692 euros in the euro area, while diesel fuel is at 1.517 euros in the EU and 1.491 in the currency area only.
