The Dutch government websites, subsumed under the direction Rijksoverheid.nl (Gobiernonacional.nl) have suffered a cyberattack that has hindered access to thousands of people. According to official sources, this is the so-called Attack Distributed Denial of Service, DDoS, its acronym in English, which is beyond the capacity of the servers to generate vast amounts of information from various points. The problem was detected on Tuesday night and could not be resolved until Wednesday.
Netherlands is undergoing major cyber attacks in recent months, and the government "does not rule makers sue" they say the same speakers. Last April, the management of ING bank accounts, the airline KLM, bank payment service via the Internet, iDEAL, personal network and liaison with management, DigiD, had the same problem. During these attacks, several million Dutch lost temporarily signature, very popular to pay taxes. ING said then that the account security had not been compromised and that customers could withdraw money from ATMs.
In late April was arrested in Spain a Dutch citizen accused by the prosecution of his country to participate in an unprecedented cyberattack. The goal was the company chosen Spamhaus, based in Geneva and specialized in filtering spam.
