The state recorded at the end of April a deficit equivalent to 2.38% of GDP in national accounting terms, equivalent to a gap between revenues and expenses 25.007 million euros. The April figure exceeds by 1% compared to the same period in 2012 despite the entry into force of the new cuts. The balance of the central administration of the first four months of the year show that the allocations for debt interest and performance continue to increase, while the taxes payable fall activity due to the recession.

On the expenditure side, the financial payments made ​​by the State stood at 58.052 million euros, up 5.7%. This result has influenced the increase in financial expenses by 10.6% to stand at 12.591 million euros. Excluding the interest payment of the debt, the payments would rise 4.4%.

On the revenue side, tax collection and low prices by 5.3% to 26.787 million euros. Highlights include the 9.9% drop in VAT. Current taxes on income and wealth have reached 13,920 million euros, representing a decrease of 4.1% compared to the same period of 2012. By contrast, social contributions increased by 5.4% to 3.382 million euros.
