The accounts of the Social Security system until April recorded a positive balance of 7275.11 million euros, equivalent to 0.69% of GDP, which represents a decrease of 3.1% from the balance in the same period a year earlier.
According to the budget execution data released Tuesday by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, the surplus is due to revenue of 43048.14 million, which increased 2.17% year less expenditures of 35773.03 million which increased 3.29%.
April revenues include state transfers amounting to 6413.09 million to 1944.22 million higher than those received a year earlier, a 30% increase. Meanwhile, revenue from social contributions fell 3.34% to 33231.98 million due to the decline in price of 2.38% busy. The price of the unemployed fell 12.49%.
On the expenditure side, the biggest cost (contributory pensions and benefits) increased by 3.97% to 32598.10 million. Only pensions (disability, retirement, widowhood, orphanhood and family) went 30826.76 million, 4.84% higher.
In maternity, paternity and risk during pregnancy were paid 689.33 million, 5.50% less while spending Temporary Disability decreased 11.88% to 930.06 million. Moreover, the Ministry emphasizes the decrease of 7.20% over the previous year of management fees incurred by Social Security.
