The Spanish citizen Juan Manuel Soria was arrested overnight on Thursday in Tangier (Morocco) and continues in the Gendarmerie units without good cause. This is a businessman who works as a volunteer in the delegation of emigration of the diocese of the city, bordering Ceuta. Three officers came to his house to arrest him. Another contributor to the diocese, an activist for human rights Senegalese legal residence in Morocco, was also arrested. The two have spent the night in jail.
Soria used to take blankets and warm clothing to African immigrants living in poverty in Moroccan territory, an activity that the Moroccan authorities just do not look with favor. Morocco lacks a care network for migrants, while thousands of immigrants with the intention of making the leap has Spain accumulate near Ceuta and Melilla.
