The hotel bookings up 1.9 percent in 2013 for foreign tourists

Overnight stays in Spanish hotel establishments totaled 285.9 million in 2013 , representing an increase of 1.9 % over the previous year , making the tourism sector this indicator returns to positive territory supported by foreign tourists.
According to data released today by the National Statistics Institute ( INE) , overnight stays by residents in Spain fell by 1.6% ( 100.4 million ), while those for travelers from overseas grew 3.9% ( 185 500 000 ) .
In the last month of the year , use of hotels grew for the eighth by scoring an increase of 9.4 % and 13.5 million overnights month. In this case, it was supported both residential users , which grew 6.4% , and non-residents , which increased 11.7% .
Over the entire year, the average stay in the establishments of the country stood at 3.41 nights , while prices fell 0.2%.
Hotels billed medium 72.2 euros per room occupied , 1.1 %, and 41.2 euros per available room , 3.5% more .
In 2013 , covered 53.1 % of the available seats, the 2.1% , while employment in weekend rose 1.9% and stood at 58.1 %.
