The number of self-employed who traded for stoppage of work at the end of 2012 was 501,530, a figure that has barely changed compared to that of 2011 (501,630), year of entry into force of this provision can be charged after twelve months of contribution to Social Security.
According to data released today by the Ministry of Employment and Social Security, last year 1538 were recognized benefits for cessation of activity, 1379 by mutuals and 159 by the Public Employment Service (SEPS).
The Social Security paid out during the year to € 2.1 million for the payment of this allowance, the monthly average amount was 649.46 euros, while the average period was 2.5 months perception.
In 83.4% of cases, the end came for economic, technical, organizational or production, while 11.6% was for reasons of self own dependents.
In the statement the ministry has said it remains committed to simplifying the requirements for access to the provision since last year 86.9% of applications were denied accreditation by improper termination.
