The Guardia Civil, in the so-called Operation Pluto developed in Alicante, has intervened 4105 kilos of cocaine from South America. This is one of the largest caches of cocaine land of history and the largest since 2001.
With the arrest of three members, has dismantled a criminal network dedicated to the introduction, development and sale of cocaine in Spain. The drug is worth almost intervened 242 million euros. The operation began following the seizure of 190 grams of cocaine last January 15. Apparently, the drug had been introduced into the layers of cowhide during treaty for marketing. The cargo had arrived on pallets on the 1st February at Alicante town of Elche, namely a warehouse that appeared to be abandoned and whose nearby guarding a person inside a vehicle. This ship had been hired the previous evening by one of the detainees now, it's taken over the shoe manufacturing company mentioned.
At check in that ship, after reviewing the merchandise, we found a total of 3732 packages containing more than a kilo of cocaine each, packed with packing tape hidden inside the skins vaccines. 4105 kilos exactly is involved. They have also been tapped two shotguns, a rifle, three machetes and ammunition, among other things.
The detainees, who were sent to prison, are MAML (Leader of organized group), M.L.M. and ATB, Elche Spanish residents aged 49 to 56 years old.
