McDonald's plans to invest 160 million euros in Spain until 2014 to open 60 new restaurants that generate more than 3,000 jobs and allow you to reach 500 stores in the country, announced Wednesday the fast-food chain .
The Spanish branch of the burger franchise has highlighted that 75% of the suppliers in the chain by turnover are in Spain and supply most of the raw materials used in its more than 440 restaurants. The remaining 25% comes from the EU.
The company said that its growth and investment in the Spanish market "are reflected in the broad base of primary sector providers has developed in Spain, creating a local supply network that helps boost the economy" of the different areas in which it operates.
Food suppliers of McDonald's in Spain, according to the chain, directly employing more than 3,800 people and have production facilities in 13 regions.
McDonald's, which in 2011 celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in Spain, closed last year with a turnover of 928 million euros in the country, up 9.1%, and currently has a workforce of over 22,000 employees.
