The much heralded "product offensive" Seat has arrived and the Martorell plant has started producing the third generation of León, a car which since 1999 has sold 1.2 million units. The new model, which will be produced three versions (to start five-door and three-door and later family), represents an investment of 800 million euros, if you count the whole process from idea to production of the vehicle, through the R & D and design. The production also guarantees stability to 1,600 of the 11,000 workers in Martorell, plus 6,000 jobs auxiliary industry.
The new León will begin shipping in November in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
