Alberto Nunez Feijoo has been with everything. With the economic downturn, with unemployment unmanageable, with social indignation in the street, with fulminant wear Rajoy President uncovering the polls, with the indecision of their constituents and their own fears of not reaching the majority. No one came, but beat his mark. The PP won Sunday 41 deputies, three more than in 2009, although, in the absence of the immigrant vote, lost about 145,000 votes. The unrest has gone very expensive, however, to PSdeG-PSOE, which falls from 25 to 18, and the BNG, who discovers a new electoral ground with seven seats, up from 12 the previous regional elections. These two forces losing ground in favor of the popular but mainly for training and born a month ago dubbed the Galician Syriza. Alternative Esquerda Galician (AGE), the nationalist coalition led by United Esquerda Xosé Manuel Beiras, enters Parliament with a historic power and with almost 200,000 votes exceeds the BNG and becomes third force with nine deputies.
Galicia and gives wings to the austerity of Feijoo, the pioneer in Spain snip public spending, and cuts that Rajoy prepares president from Madrid. Against the Galician PP inner fears, the Conservatives out of 21-O reinforced in all the provinces except Pontevedra, which is maintained and give encouragement to the cuts undertaken by the party president to abide by the central government from the top of deficit imposed after the bank bailout.

Opposite the popular will to an opponent that burst, however, what could have been a peaceful parliamentary rivalry weakened. Beiras Galician returns to the House after his departure in 2005 through a partnership with United Esquerda. And in light of what was his struggle to get here, it will be difficult to accommodate Feijóo relaxed in his seat from now. The former leader of the BNG broke sluggish campaign rallies vibrant bold anticapitalist and verbal attacks, without euphemisms, typical of the "emergency" you see in the street. The economics professor is a 76-year political reborn power unsullied, the visible face of that block was gradually thrive while Fraga right and socialism fattened before the Prestige shipwreck kept slim. Beside her, Yolanda Diaz, United Esquerda leader and number two for A Coruña, daughter of a family of leftist politicians, who also has managed to turn what was a residual force in the Galician political spectrum a magnet for citizens dissatisfied with the current system.
The discontent came not at the polls this Sunday only from the hand of the Galician Syriza and anticapitalist discourse. The blank and null votes added, surprisingly, more than 5% and the party called Seats in White becomes the sixth force after UPyD with 1.6% of the vote, ahead of the game Mario Conde. Turnout was 64.4%, slightly more than one percentage point less than in 2009.

The collapse of socialist and nationalist is historic. To escape him PSOE voters about 235,000 2009 and lower than 18 deputies who had in 1997, a year after the defeat of Felipe González: lost three deputies in La Coruna, a traditional constituency of his rope, two in Pontevedra, one Lugo and another in Ourense. The crash occurs especially in urban areas, where AGE through the roof and becomes second force in La Coruna, Ferrol and Santiago came within one vote of the PSOE. The BNG yields over 125,000 votes and drops to seven members, only two more than you did in 1989 when, with headlining Beiras, first obtained their own group in Parliament.
The elected President will have to deal with a complicated picture now, as it will have even less money than this already austere legislature and should culminate its two major projects: the hospital to dispose of Vigo health collapse, threatened by the lack financing, and contracts with the shipyards Galician oil company Pemex, vital to stop the bleeding of layoffs in the shipbuilding sector, the industrial heart of Galicia. All this, though, with the satisfaction of being part of a select group of European political leaders who have endured stand the onslaught of the crisis.
