Spending for Social Security contributory pensions was 7467.94 million in October, down 4.4% on the same month in 2011, said today the Ministry of Employment and Social Security. The average pension amounted to 951.83 euros per month, an increase of 3.4% over the same month last year.
As for the average pension system, comprising the different types of pension (retirement, permanent disability, widowhood, orphanhood and family allowances), was 833.63 euros per month, an increase of 3.1%.
The total contributory pension was 8,957,176, representing a growth of 1.3%. More than half are for retirement pensions, 5,358,987, 2,326,942 are widows; 941,629 permanent disability; 291,268 for orphans and 38,350 for families.
The average pension for widowhood was 603.07 euros per month (2.3% yoy), the permanent disability of 889.44 euros (2.3% higher), the orphan 365.90 euros (1 , 7%) and provision for family amounted to 487.38 euros (2.9%). Retirement pensions, exceeded the average of 951.93 euros in the Basque Country (1178.56 euros) Asturias (1168.49), Madrid (1136.3), Navarra (1069.6), Cantabria (1001.81) , Canary (916.65), Aragon (980.9 euros) and Catalonia (966.48).
Below stood Castilla y León (920.83), La Rioja (885.56), Castilla La Mancha (883.79), Valencia (862.39), Baleares (869.16), Andalucia (868, 38), Murcia (838.2), Extremadura (798.14) and Galicia (785.13). In Ceuta, the average pension amounted to 1064.21 euros per month and Melilla in 1001.74 euros.
In September 4069 there were new high contributory pension under the general, with an average pension of 996.92 euros, and 20,778 for retirement, with an average of 1423.88 euros. For the total system for permanent disability benefits were 5481 (with 938.67 euros on average) and 26,313 for retirement, with an average pension of 1300.17.
