The balance of payments, which measures the monetary transactions involved between Spain and the rest of the world, recorded in February a deficit of almost 2,800 million euros, 38% higher than that presented in the same month of 2013, today released the Bank of Spain.

For the second consecutive month the balance of trade in goods, services and income is negative, having ended 2013 with a surplus of 7.965 million euros.

This increase in the deficit was mainly due to the expansion of the trade deficit (1,000 million compared to 600 million in February 2013), due to a larger increase in imports than in exports (8.0% and 6 , 4% yoy respectively).

Also by higher income deficit and to a lesser extent, transfers, while there was a slight increase in the surplus of the services balance.

Dieser Anstieg des Defizits vor allem auf den Ausbau des Handelsbilanzdefizits (1.000 Millionen gegenüber 600 Millionen im Februar 2013), was zu einem größeren Anstieg der Importe als der Exporte (8,0% und 6 , 4% gegenüber dem Vorjahr beziehungsweise).
