The landscape in the Valencian Community care is very fragmented, although all sectors suffer defaults on the Government. The employer Aerte (which encompasses the bulk of private healthcare facilities and services) estimates that the debt of the Government around 100 million. The association adds around 200 approved centers and subsidized. The last payments occurred three months ago, when I was paid until November 2011. The delay has not led to closures, but due to suppliers and delays in paying wages.
The Valencian Federation of Families and Mental Illness (Feafes) received outstanding share of subsidies in July, but the Government estimates that two million owed to its 26 partners. The most dramatic was yesterday at the close of the Centre for Rehabilitation and Social Integration (CRIS) for the mentally ill of Alcoy, with 50 seats and eight workers.
The Association of Parents of Mentally Handicapped Deep (ASPADIS) now closes its four centers (85 children served), not knowing whether to reopen in September of the Government debt and although it has taken 30% of the subsidy due.
Last week, five disabled groups held closures to report a debt of at least 10 million this year in 41 centers housing more than 3,000 people and has 2,100 employees. According to the Minister of Health, Luis Rosado, the Government "is trying to pay" rule out a situation like that of Catalonia.
