Madrid. (EUROPA PRESS) .- The State recorded a deficit of 18.818 million euros to the month of May, 1.79% of GDP, compared to net loss of 19.949 million recorded during the same period of 2009, representing a reduction 5.7%, according to data today advanced by Secretary of State for Finance, Carlos Ocaña, the Congressional Budget Committee.

This result was a consequence of payments stood at EUR 70.506 million (9% more than the same period in 2009) and a turnover of 51.688 million (15.6% more).

In cash terms, the government deficit amounted to 22.878 million euros in the first five months of the year, compared to net loss of 19.102 million recorded during the same period last year.

Until May, tax collection, accounting for 92.7% of the total, rose for the third consecutive drop after two years, increasing by 7.4%, above all, to recover VAT, which grew by 21 9%.
