The tourism sector must attract travelers from emerging countries, says Minister Soria

Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism Jose Manuel Soria, stressed today that Spain has to "be able to attract tourists from emerging source countries" in the tourism sector during the presentation of the medals and Tourism Merit Badges.
The Minister explained that the industry has to adapt to change because every year "emerging alternative destinations that can compete with the Spanish offer" and that emerging countries are issuing tourists "have to be able to grasp."
Soria pointed out that tourism growth forecast of 4 or 5% over the next four years to reach 1500 million tourists in 2020, according to the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), has indicated.
During the ceremony, Soria has highlighted the merit of Abel Matutes Prats, Matutes Business executive vice president and CEO of Palladium Hotel Group (formerly Fiesta Hotel Group) for "help rehabilitate obsolete equipment of Spanish tourism," said .
