The Ministry of Agriculture has launched the Cooperative State Plan Integration with the objective of sound entities with more dimension and greater competitiveness in the markets to defend the value of their productions. This Plan is one of the measures under the Cooperative Act Integación passed last year in the same direction , and where also the formation of associative entities prioriotarias of supra regional character is expected . The development of this plan will be implemented from 2015 to 2020.
The agroaolimentarias unions now represent one of the pillars of farming nearly 4,000 entities with a turnover of 19,000 million euros , representing nearly 45% of the value of final agricultural production . They have a million members and generate 100,000 jobs.

To achieve these goals , the administration contemplated action in five directions : Increase and modernize their structures , increased training of management teams , increasing sales abroad , more market orientation and seguimento cooperative development . Agriculture provides for downsizing plans between associative entities and preferential treatment for cooperatives as a priority.
The coooperativa integration is a process that was developed several decades ago in other EU countries, where today half a dozen large groups totaling more than all Spanish cooperatives billing .
