The French government said today in favor of European equities and in the framework of the OECD tax practices of large firms operating on the Internet, such as Amazon and Google, which the treasury billions Gallo sums claimed. London joins Paris, who interrogates Starbucks executives, Amazon and Google in a British Parliament committee investigating alleged tax evasion in the UK.
"The government is working on the issue of the tax base of digital activiades" said French government spokesman, Najat Belkacem, who however declined to specify the amount of the claims of Paris to those companies.
The spokesman said two experts prepared on behalf of the French authorities a report on this issue, in order to "make recommendations" and then decide on actions "national, European and OECD" (Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development).
He alleged that the complaints procedures for companies like Amazon and Google "are covered by tax secrecy" not specify the amounts claimed, although French local media have published in recent days amounts allegedly demanded by Paris.
Google would be able to claim more than 1,700 million reported in Ireland
For Google, the French authorities are preparing to claim more than 1,700 million euros for suspecting that the U.S. giant in Ireland declares its profits in France to benefit from more favorable tax treatment in that country, the newspaper "Les Echos ".
A lack of official confirmation, the satirical weekly "Le Canard Enchaîné" said in late October that Google and the claim has been formalized and reaching 1,000 million euros over four years income earned in France but Ireland said.
During those four years, Google earned between 1,250 and 1,400 million per year for its activity in France, but said only 138 million and only paid five million corporate tax bill, according to the publication.
For Amazon, the French tax authorities claimed 198 million euros in arrears in the payment of taxes on profits in France between 2006 and 2010, according to a public information released by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Authority (Securities & Exchange Commission, SEC ) of which echoed French local media.

The government spokesman acknowledged that the activities of companies such as these "hardly falls within the scope of corporation tax, which involves determining the territory in which it charged VAT (value added tax)."
"We must rethink the rules," admitted Belkacem, who added that while the Internet is "an area of freedom, should not be a lawless zone and taxation it should also apply in that activity."
French President Franois Hollande, announced last October that if the dispute between Google and publishers of newspapers for advertising revenue from the U.S. company is not resolved before the end of the year there will be a law to close the case.
The origin of the dispute is the claim by the French media of a portion of the advertising revenue that Google achieved through its news search through access to content that does not generate that company, but the editors and journalists Gauls .
