The amount of purchases within families and businesses that were unpaid at maturity in April amounted to 565 million euros, 12.6% less than the same month of 2012, making this indicator accumulates ten consecutive months downward.
According to data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) published today, these figures remain at 3.8% the rate of defaults on the total amount of expired. The average of 295,805 unpaid bills of exchange is situate at 1,910 euros.
The decline in April is the youngest reported so far this year. And in the monthly comparison, data for April compared to March of this year, both the amount of expired as of those who were unpaid recorded significant increases of 10.1% and 8.6%, respectively .
For entities, 69.6% of the total amount of unpaid bills in April fell to banks, 23.4% to savings and 7% at credit unions.
By type, 76% of the number of defaults in the portfolio effects accounted for, and 24% for collection management purposes.
By region, Galicia led the rising defaults to Trade, a 243.2% increase, followed by Castilla-La Mancha, with 14.8%.
Faced with these two communities, the rest recorded declines. The biggest drops were placed Extremadura, with an annual decline of 61.1%, Andalusia, with 48.3%; Murcia, with 48.2%; Valencia, with 33.1%, and the Basque Country, with 30.9%.
With the increase in April, Galicia had the highest percentage of unpaid bills on total up to 12%.
Catalonia, Madrid and Galicia accounted for 58% of the total amount of the unpaid bills of exchange in April.
