Police have arrested a child under 13 on suspicion of launching a large stone from a bridge to the highway to La Manga (RM-12), in Murcia. The impact caused the death yesterday of a man who occupied the passenger seat in a vehicle traveling in this way up to the town of Los Belones (Cartagena), as reported by the Delegation of the Government of Murcia.
At ten-thirty last night, a driver had alerted the 112 emergency service that a group of people were throwing objects from a bridge in the variant of Los Belones to cars traveling on the highway.
Barely half an hour later, the same 112 service received a call from a woman reporting that an object had struck his vehicle and his companion reached, knocking him unconscious.
An ambulance came to the place of the Red Cross and emergency mobile unit Murcia Health Service, whose staff could do nothing to save the life of man. The woman traveling with the deceased had to be served by a crisis of anxiety.
Police are investigating whether the prisoner, who should rise now available to the juvenile prosecutor, was alone at the time of the incident or had the help of others, and that the stone was large.
Not the first case recorded in Murcia. In 2008, he died a young man in the AP-7, in San Javier, the impact of a stone thrown from a bridge, and a year ago were arrested in Molina de Segura two Romanian citizens of 21 and 30 years for wounding seriously man, after throwing a stone on his car off a bridge over the A-30.
