Prosecutors in Barcelona has opened an investigation into the "high" fees that have received senior CatalunyaCaixa, the entity that was nationalized last year and was born from the merger of three boxes Catalan: Caixa Catalunya, Manresa and Tarragona. The prosecutor's investigation Fernando Maldonado covers salaries, pensions and allowances received by officials in recent years, particularly since 2010 when the former Caixa Catalunya began receiving aid from the Bank Restructuring Fund (FROB), which now controls 89.7% of entity. In total, the FROB has injected EUR 2,968 million. The prosecutor has already requested documentation and does not rule out that the alleged irregularities are also to former officials of Caixa Catalunya.
