UPyD deputy Carlos Martinez Gorriaran, who was spokesman Basta Ya, considered "entirely possible" that the PP perform some kind of donation to the Basque peace organization, as reflected in the handwritten accounts of the party, released today by El Pais. As stated in the secret papers of Barcenas, enough aid figure of 3,005 euros paid by the PP in the first half of 2002.
Martinez explained that Gorriarán Enough, which was also the leading integrated UPyD, Rosa Díez, received in those years dozens of grants which defrayed the payment of the headquarters of the organization and campaigns and actions against terrorism ETA.
Gorriarán not rule out the PP extesorero Luis Barcenas, or the party itself, make this donation to the platform, which could be seen by comparing the bank account in which Enough funds were entered.
The deputy UPyD now clarified that many of those donations - "completely legal", he has said, were received on behalf of people who could be "real or fake", since no identity checking.
He insisted that regardless of the source of those funds, the money helped "enough" to meet its objectives of condemnation of terrorism at a time "very hard" in the Basque Country.
