The Ministry of Education continues with meetings to overcome initial rejection raised his education reform in the sector and in many of the communities, including those governed by the PP. Secretary of State for Education, Montserrat Gomendio, met on Thursday with the Andalusia's bouquet, Mar Moreno (PSOE), to address the new regulatory framework of compulsory education in Spain. Among the new ministry is José Ignacio Wert are willing to introduce changes in the new Basic Training. These cycles, designed for students lagging, replace the initial vocational qualification programs.
The main problem is that, as it was designed basic VET reform project presented by the ministry two months ago, these cycles of two years became an outlet premature system for students with more problems. According to the initial plans of the Government, to finish the basic FP only get a professional certificate granted the most basic level by the Ministry of Labour. Mar Moreno indicated that the ministry is ready to introduce "basic FP changes" so it does not become a "dead end", which had also called some communities governed by the PP. The initial vocational qualification programs, unlike the basic FP, opening the possibility that students could get the title later that or go directly to the FP medium grade. It is not yet clear whether the ministry will reopen these two outputs or just leave the FP.
Andalusia hopes that they can recover the two possibilities. At the meeting on Friday, Moreno has wielded some data to support your request. Over 36% of students Andalusians of initial vocational qualification programs just claiming the title of ESO. This would reinforce the view that a good portion of these students may be recovered if they are not shut out as planned in the basic FP.
Gomendio as detailed Moreno has also admitted that the ministry has planned to be more flexible regarding the curriculum, giving more autonomy to schools to set schedules and contents of the non-instrumental. Another point to be touched by the reform, according to the Andalusia, will the itineraries. Wanted them less rigid than initially expected. And one way of achieving this would be through a gateway system. The aim is that the decision taken by the students in the third of ESO (14 years) is not irreversible.
Moreno described the meeting with Gomendio as a "useful meeting." Although have approached positions on reform, there are still very important points of disagreement. This would apply revalidation system that wants to launch the ministry or the establishment of public schools ratings from external evaluations.
