The National Consumer Arbitration Board has issued since the first 21 awards in the arbitration of preference shares and subordinated debt of Bankia, all favorable, and immediately allow, these clients recover all the investment.
In a statement today, Bankia explained that of the 21 awards made, 6 correspond to the Community of Madrid and 15 at Valencia.
As of now, the company added, they will be dictating new resolutions that will affect customers across Spain.
Until yesterday, Bankia had received 104,567 requests for arbitration within the process which began on April 18 for retail customers holders of hybrids.
The total requests, 59,630 are already being analyzed by the independent expert KPMG, consultant responsible for preparing a report to assess, based on the criteria set by the Monitoring Committee created to oversee the arbitration process, if each of the applications made eligible to participate in this process.
In addition, there are already 3,117 applications are pending the customer sign the arbitration agreement and may be referred to the Consumer Arbitration Board.
All retail customers holders of preferred and subordinated debt that were issued by banks Bankia founders could submit its request for arbitration since last April 18, a process that ends next June 30.
