Is it the end of trading on the Western Sahara?
Ali SALEM ISELMU - Saharawi journalist and writer. Vitoria, Alava - 13/11/2010
The phase of the business is closed permanently in Western Sahara, Morocco was responsible for destroying the talks to dismantle a brutal and without any witness to thousands of Sahrawi civilians who were protesting Izik Agdaym camp for their rights in their own land .
The Polisario Front has nothing to talk or give, any attempt to continue the dialogue is a waste of time. Morocco feels strong and well supported at the United Nations and has the impunity guaranteed by its allies, no one is going to condemn or to ask for explanations, will commit their crimes without witnesses.
The Polisario must have another strategy and should continue in this way, the Sahrawi must take responsibility and defend their land and out in self-assertion of their dignity, freedom and right to exist as a people.
Today's world has many ways to act and implement human rights and international law, when there is an interest in enforcing these basic rules of international order to a country if need be imposed by force and sanctions, but the Western Sahara case there is no real will to make the United Nations mission a mission that solves that conflict and not to look for 20 years how to torture and kill the Saharawi before their eyes.
Through negotiations in Western Sahara has no more travel, is to prolong the agony prolong the Saharawi people.
